In the past week Ian has had his first 2 accidents. I feel like a horrible Momma. First as I was cooking dinner and Dan was washing up dishes, Ian was playing with Mr. Riggs (our kitty), well Ian decided he could pull the kitty's tail....BAD IDEA......Mr. Riggs claws go out the cut his little finger...blood everywhere, you would of thought his whole finger was cut off...no cries, no cries, from my brave boy. Then this morning as were getting ready to leave Ian trips over his new shoes......err......It was recomended to us not to put showes on Ian until he started walking, so this weekend it was time, got the new shoes...It's like learning to walk all over again. I should of known better, but I put them on anyhow. Two step later, BooM, baby down. Round 2: blood all over the place, but no cries, no tears. I can't describe how I felt seeing all that blood. But I do have one tough, brave little man!!!!
Over the weekend I also won the horible wife award......I accidentily washed Dan's cell phone in his pants. And he wasn't upset about the phone, he was upset that his first pictures of took of Ian were on that phone. So horrible Mom, and Wife award all in a weekends time.
On a happier note...Monday is over, and my baby loves him some applesauce!!!
Lisa Leonard -it's the little things- is one o fmy favorite blogs to read. Lisa is very inspiring, fashionable, and designs amazing pieces of jewlery. Lisa is currenlty going through a tough time where she has to brave. Her son, David, will have heart surgery at the end of the month. She designed a new necklace that she calls, "brave love".
She is currently giving away 5 of these necklaces. Five! 5!
If you know anyone with a brave heart, or you have one yourslef, this is perfect!
I can't believe in one month, Ian will be one! He is at such an exhausting fun age right now where he is always on the move and always getting into something! He is one busy, busy boy, and we love it! He is pure sweetness and has such a great personality, if I could sum it up in 3 words I would say he is Fun, Curious, and Determined. No matter what life throws our way, he is there to make us smile! Love, Love, Love him!
At 11 months old, Ian:
Walks everywhere, crawling is pretty much a thing of the past!
Weighs 24 pounds.
Drinks four 7 ounce bottles a day.
He is eating more and more real people food everyday, but mushed because......
He still has no teeth!
Will crawl up the stairs all day long if let him!
Favorite toys are cell phones, laptops, and remotes.
Has added, "Tank you", and "Apple" to his vocabulary.
Says, "Bob", all the time. Not sure who Bob is maybe an imaginary friend, but its so funny!
Today was a Furlough day...which does not make me happy, but at the same time I got to spend a full day with Ian and his friends! We hosted a play date at our house! We got juice boxes, candy corn, harvest cakes, and materials for a fun craft! Ian's friends, Avery, Hayden, Caleb, Ryan, Hailey, and Leela all got to come over. They played very hard: basketball, tugboats, read books, kitchen, and more! We made each guest a pumpkin hand print with their own hand put them in cute frames we picked up from the dollar store! Ian can't wait for Momma to have a Furlough day again! He thinks Furlough days are fun...even if Momma isn't getting paid.
Fall is in the air. Clean, Crisp, and Cold! J.Crew catalogs are filling my mailbox with must haves, Starbucks is serving up Pumpkin Spice Lattes, so I knew it was time, time for Ian's first Hike!!! We went to Sweetwater State Park, and enjoyed every moment of it, Dan and I taking in the peace, and actually getting to have meaningful conversation, Ian was awed by the trees, water, animal sounds, and other people hiking. I am not sure he stopped babbling the entire time! YaY, he is his mothers son loving the outdoors! What a Beautiful Day!
I kept starring at Ian, and thinking he is starting to sport a baby mullet, and I can not will not have this. Perfect timing that Ian's Grandma, who is also a hair stylist was coming to visit. So chop, chop E-man's first hair cut!!!! We ventured over to Uncle Shawn & Aunt Jen's where Grandma was staying with Ian's cousins for the weekend. He did very well, but at the end he looks a little confused like, "What just happened?" I think he looks handsome!
This afternoon I sat in Border's typing my final project for my gifted endorsement, hating my life. The boys were at home watching football, and Border's was about 125 degrees. My phone beeped and this was my message:
I got an instant smile on my face, and finished up as quickly as possible. Laughter is the best medicine!
Over the weekend our friends invited us to stay at their family cabin at Mineral Bluff in the Blueridge Mountains-Papa Bear's Den. It was an amazing cabin nestled literally on a mountainside. We attended the Festival of the Rails, and took a nice little train ride, went to Mericer's Orchard and went Apple picking, visited the town of Blueridge, and went shopping in all the unique little shops, oh and had the best tasting fried green tomatos at the Whistle Stop Cafe. This all sounds amazing right....all except for the fact that at 7:00am on Saturday morning Monroe (our curious stubburn, Jack Russel) decides to escapes through the cabin door, and have her own little adventure in the mountains. After calling and calling her, and her running futher, and futher away, I burst into our room crying hysterically sobbing to my Mr. that she was gone forever and would be lunch for the wolves and bears. After about 2 hours- Mr. pulls up in a starnge car with Monroe in hand. He had to hitch hike back to the cabin. After all that his fishing weekend also ended with no fish. Sorry Mr. But Ian and I hade a great time!!!
Good Morning Y'all!! I have been checking out the 'what i wore wednesday' posts for a few weeks now with Lindsay at http://thepleatedpoppy.com/blog/, and have finally decided to join in! I only have 3 pictures this week, and they are not the best worst quality, 2 are actually taken in the bathroom mirror at school, (I am a teacher!). I promise next week to use my camera, and not my cell phone! I hope you enjoy this post, and the rest of my blog!
Can you believe it? I am still in shock. My little man turned 10 months today. He brings smiles, laughter, joy, peace, and so much love to my life. He continues to amaze me everyday!
At 10 months, Ian:
Weights 22 pounds
Wears size 12-18 month cloths
Drinks about 30oz of pumped milk a day, and eats 3 full meals
Clasps his hands together all the time with the biggest smile on his face on his own, and when we say, "YAY"
Signs more, and milk.
Waves hello, and goodbye.
Still has no teeth. None.
Pulls up, and stands on everything!
Stands by himself for long periods of time!
Is walking as long as he has something to hold onto, I believe it's called, "cruising". Can take about 5 steps along without falling.
Loves waffles, pasta, and cheese! He is his mommas boy!
Gets very upset when he is told, "no, no". It breaks his little heart.
When you hold up the letter "A" or say "A", he will make the sound it makes, so cute Ian's personality continues to shine everyday! He is very independent, and curious about everything! I love you Ian!
We had a mini vacation this Labor Day! We went to Florida to visit friends, and had a great time! Congratulations Dale and Amanda on their engagement!!!!
Ian loved playing with "rocky", even if it was through the glass. He had a great time at the beach as well playing in the salty sea water, he managed to swollow none, and the sand making castles, digging holes, and gulping Smartwater. I think he may take Jennifer Anistons contract over!
Just wanted to let everyone know that Lisa is at it again with her fabulous giveaways! This time it is a new necklace titled: Through my Lens.
I love taking pictures and posting them as you know!! When asked, "What do you see through your lens?" I replied....."the little moments that create my beautiful life, the curiosity of my little man, the knowledge of my students, strength of my family, and ongoing love for life!"
This weekend were taking a much neeed vaction to visit our best friends: Dale & Amanda. They have bought a new house in Valrico, Fl. Not a name that is a popular destination in Florida, but were going!!! So packing noramlly goes that Dan is telling me I have too many bags and needs to condense. This trip I did just that, and please take a look, but did I even have any other option? Look at how much stuff I need for E-man. Ian also was confused as to why all his stuff was in the foyer, and started unpacking it. Oh and the list.....Look at what my husband put as the last thing to remember.....I was cracking up!!! Enjoy your weekend!
For the past 10 months I have been spending my lunch alone, with the sound of a pump as my backround noise., replying to emails. I love that I have been this dedicated to giving Ian the best nutrients that is available for him but at the same time I am glad, exactic that I only have 3 weeks to go.....
The picture above will be of the past and I can start mingling with my collegues again at lunch, preparing lessons, making copies, checking out books, so I can leave at the end of the school day, and have more time to spend with my sweet Ian!
Ian had such a great day playing today with Ms. Jennifer that she informed me he only napped for 25 min all day. She lives less than a mile from our house, and by the time I pulled in the driveway he was passed out, bless his little heart. So when I opened the mailbox there was a card for him I could not share at that moment. After dinner we opened his card from my parents, Ian's Nana and Papa.
It was the cutest little boy with a huge grin missing his front teeth which is a joke because Ian has no teeth. My mom wrote a said not that said, "Ian you'll have teeth like this one day!"
Ian loved the card and played for it seriously for about 40 min straight!
I am a mom trying to document that ever changing job for myself, my child, my friends and family. These are strictly my opinions and rants. Please don’t take them for more than that!!!
